About | Alex Gillingham
’26, Iowa State University
As a child, I could often be found in my room or the garage with a screwdriver in my hand trying to take my toys apart. I wanted to understand how they worked, why they were designed a certain way, and how I could make them better or more powerful. This curiosity has carried me forward and through my passion for industrial design.
I work to create meaningful and innovative solutions that blend aesthetics and functionality. I thrive on collaboration and problem-solving, and I’m eager to explore new ways to elevate my work. Through my portfolio, my goal is to showcase my dedication to detail, creativity, and the unique perspective I bring to every assignment. Today, I still am that child, eager to learn more about my toys, except those toys are now real.
