Time Trek- An Outdoor Alarm Clock
Reverse Engineering Project (Junior Year)
I'm excited to present Time Trek, a robust alarm clock designed for the avid camper. For this project, my partner and I were tasked with reverse engineering an alarm clock, and we chose to develop one that would meet the unique challenges of camping in the wilderness. The clock was designed not only to be waterproof but also to include practical features for camping. To bring the design to life, we used 3D modeling, followed by resin printing to create the clock's final form. The process is showcased through a series of images below that highlight my initial sketches, the 3D models, and the final fully-functional alarm clock radio. This clock is truly tailored to empower outdoor enthusiasts with its versatility and convenience.

Our research involved gathering information from interviews and conducting background research, which led us to focus on the needs of a group of Eagle Scouts. We worked closely with them, which helped guide the development of a durable, multi-functional clock that is truly user-centered.
Time Trek is solar-powered, includes storage space, and has a built-in charging pack. Additionally, it offers NOAA Weather alerts, AM/FM radio, a bottle opener, a fire starter, a flashlight, and the ability to hang it around camp for easy access.
